United Methodist Church Union Response to the Pandemic Crisis
During this time of crisis, United Methodist Church Union remains committed to its mission of transforming communities, lives and hearts. To honor the need for social distancing, our operations are being conducted remotely - with all of our staff still in service to our mission. We are committed to the men, women and children that we serve. While being mindful of best practices during this outbreak, Daily Bread is still providing nutritious meals three times weekly – in takeout form - in the Northside; Kids Meal Network distributed over 33,000 grab ‘n go meals at 19 locations across Allegheny/Armstrong/Westmoreland Counties this summer to stand in the gap and deliver to-go meals to kiddos when schools cannot; Reading & Mentoring Network added books to Kids Meal Network meal deliveries and delivered to schools this Fall for distribution to families – giving children brand new reading material; and Financial Services are diligently working to help small businesses partners stay ahead of their bookkeeping.
